Sector results were uniformly negative. Basic chemical shares declined 7.3%, while diversifed shares fell 4.7%, and specialty stocks were down 5.4%. Ag shares declined 6.2%, while gases shares were down 6.3%. Just three companies posted increases for the week. DuPont shares rose after it announced that frst-quarter earnings will exceed forecasts, although the company sounded a note of caution on the outlook due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
