Report: Tata Chemicals gets environmental approval for soda ash expansion in India

Tata Chemicals has received environmental approval from India’s Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change for the expansion of the company’s soda ash plant in Mithapur, at an estimated cost of 10.42 billion India rupees ($151 million), according to local media reports. The company plans to increase soda ash production capacity at its plant in Gujarat State to over 1.13 million metric tons/year from 1.09 million metric tons/ year at present.
