Nova awards ethylene expansion contract to SNC-Lavalin-TechnipFMC consortium

Nova Chemicals has awarded a lump-sum engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract to a consortium of SNC-Lava-lin and TechnipFMC to expand Nova's Corruna steam cracker at Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. The consortium will install two cracking furnaces as part of the expansion, which will raise ethylene capacity by 50%. The project forms part of Nova's recently announced third-phase investment that includes converting and expanding the facility, and is linked to the construction of a polyethylene plant.
