Tangshan Risun plans $8-billion refinery,petchem complex

Tangshan Risun Chemical(Tangshan,China)is planning to invest 57.8 billion renminbi($8.1 billion)to build an integrated refining and petrochemical(petchem)complex at Caofeidian,a district of Tangshan in China.An environmental impact assessment for the project was recently published by China's Ministry of Ecology and Environment for public consultation.The project was first announced in 2017 with an estimated investment of 26 billion renminbi.According to the latest plan,the refinery will include atmospheric and vacuum distillation units with a combined capacity of 15.00 million metric tons/year(MMt/y)and two para-xylene plants,each with a capacity of 1.75 MMt/y.
