The author offers a calculation method, formulae and diagrams to yield maximum acceptable weight Increment of a piston, a connecting rod and its ends as applied to V-8 engines. Observing the calculated weight limits ensures that the total unbalanced mass of the main running gear will not exceed the design limitations. This contributes into better performance of the main running gear in terms of intensity and regularity of main bearing wear, service life, MTBF, engine noise and vibration.
