Scuffing and rubbing surface quality of cylinder-and-piston sets of diesel locomotive engines

The causes of scuffing cylinder-and-piston set parts of diesel locomotive engines (critical temperatures, unfavourable loading and speed modes etc.) connected with intolerable deviation of micro- and macrogeometry of liners, cylinders, pistons and piston rings, violation of engine working process, overheating mating parts, incompatibility of materials, worsening oil containment and absorption capability of their surfaces are described.
