摘要

Adverse events are common in healthcare provision. Poor human factor skills significantly contribute to such events, and are likely to be more common than lack of knowledge, technical skills or equipment failure [1]. Resuscitation of patients in cardiac arrest or peri-arrest circumstances is a particularly stressful time for healthcare workers. It therefore stands to reason that the incidence of human factor-related errors will be particularly high at this time. Formal human factor training in healthcare remains the exception rather than the norm. Furthermore, the true impact of such training is still not understood. The aim of this study was therefore to evaluate the effects of interventional human factor training on team performance during cardiac arrest scenarios in undergraduates.
