In sea-buckthorn seedlings (Hippophae rhamnoides L.) of variety Ziryanka effect of the gibberellic acid treatment of their seeds was studied. Seeds were separated on groups according to their mass and colour. The progeny of sea-buckthorn was characterized as subdioecious. Some amount of monoecious and sterile female trees was noted. Teh colour of seeds is controlling by two genes. At short day the viability of plants depends on seed colour, mass and GA_3 treatment. At GA_3 treatment some changes of sexual tendency was noted. The relation between black-motley colour of the seeds and the highest sensibility to GA_3, and lowest viability of seedlings and between motley seeds and weak sensibility to GA_3 and best viability seedlings was shown.
