Peculiarities of alkaloid accumulation in tissue culture of Rauwolfia serpentina Benth

摘要

During the study of the productivity of tissue culture of Rauwolfia serpentina Benth. the seasonal fluctuations of accumulation of ajmaline alkaloid were revealed. The maximum content of ajmaline made up 1.94% (winter 1995), 2.44 (spring 1996) and 1.88% (winter-spring 1997). The minimum content was observed in summer and autumn and made up 0.86%. The obtained data characterize the tissue culture of Rauwolfia serpentina as cell population, which is stable for more than 20 years introduction, with the observed alternation of rising and recession of ajmaline accumulation.
