摘要

When I was asked to teach a library literacy seminar in the master's of library sciences program at San Jose (Calif.) State University, my first thought was that I has received an errant e-mail. I'm an MBA, not a librarian. I protested. I do direct a library-based literacy program, but surely there were other instructors more qualified. My protest fell on deaf ears, and I agreed to teach a class for four weekends last fall.
