Evaluation on elementary school and status of the KANJI-HIRAGANA automatic conversion server

The KANJI-HIRAGANA Automatic Conversion Server, which converts unreadable KANJI in a web page into HIRAGANA, was opened to the public. The status of use this server was analyzed. First, a total tendency of use was comprehended by analyzing the log files, which was automatically recorded by the server. Next, the evaluation questionnaire of this server was carried out to elementary school teachers. The trend of an access frequency of this server was increased on the school days, for example the daytime on weekday, the log files indicated statistically significant. Again, the evaluation questionnaire said that an overall rating of this server was received high acclaim. The FURIGANA display and the parenthesis display were highly evaluated for every grade. The substitution display for a lower grade and the popping up display for a higher grade were also highly evaluated.
