ALFA has been working tirelessly on behalf of all lotfeeders to ensure that Government intervention in grain markets is kept to an absolute minimum. Long-term negotiations with the Commonwealth government and several state governments in relation to ethanol mandate policies, have influenced sensible decisions that have to-date minimised the impact for cattle producers. However, changes in government require a further education process on the follies of poor policy and the unintended consequences that can potentially damage agricultural sectors, increase costs to consumers and decrease consumer choice.
