Matsushita Electric Works has developed a ductless ventilation system for dwellings constructed using the company'sTechnostructure brand beam and panel ceilings. The system supplies filtered air from the outside under positive pressure to the home interior, providing stable, effective ventilation while minimizing energy loss. Use of space between beams reducesmaterials and labor costs compared with conventional ducted systems, while the positive pressure helps prevent drafts that waste energy and reduce indoor air quality. The system realizes 40% energy savings compared to traditional wood-frame houses.
