Analytical evaluation & reliability technology and its role in Matsushita electric works, Ltd.

A new category of technology has been defined as "Analytical Evaluation & Reliability Technology" by linking "Quality Evaluation Technology" for clarifying, quantifying and securing quality with "Design Analysis Technology" that serves for the clarification of the design targets and optimization of the design parameters by analyzing phenomena and their mechanisms related to the products quality insurance. This integration of technology has helped establish a system for supporting cost rationalization and achieving customer satisfaction more effectively and efficiently over a variety of stages (planning research - development - design - manufacturing - evaluation - logistics - construction - use - disposal) of a product or service lifecycle. In addition, the change from a traditional analytical approach to a "functional approach", in which a solution is sought after the required function becomes known, has become easier. This article describes the aim of "Analytical Evaluation Technology" followed by introduction of its specific technologies.
