摘要

This paper deals with a method of generating the NURBS interpolation tool path for 5 axis controlled machine tool. The NURBS interpolation tool path was already applied to 3 axis controlled machine tool. However, in case of generating the NURBS interpolation tool path for 5 axis controlled machine tool, it is essential that the tool path is collision free, sufficiently condensed and keeping tolerance. To clear up these problems, the appropriate interval subdivision method is proposed in this paper, on the basis of collision avoidance, tolerance check and equally divided curvature area method. The CAM system is developed in this study, and it is applied to generate the NURBS interpolation tool path for various workpiece shapes. As a result, the validity of the proposed method is experimentally confirmed.
