海鳥にょるプラスチックの飲み込みとその影響

摘要

Seabirds that were collected along the beach or at the sea accidentally can be suitable monitor of plastic pollution at sea. This review shows that the ingestion of plastics by seabirds is widely observed, with large species variation, and has been increasing since 1970's; indicating global plastic pollution. Effects of plastic ingestion on body condition and breeding of seabirds and those of chemicals transported from plastics into their tissues, however, have been unclear, so have to be investigated carefully.
