THE man leading the American Shorthorn industry's latter-day return to prominence says although the breed known for its docility will continue to be a showring favorite, it's in the everyday world of commercial cattle that breeders see their greatestopportunity. Ron Bolze, who among other beef industry accomplishments is a former beef specialist for the Ohio and Kansas Extension services and genetic program director for Certified Angus Beef, says Shorthorn's many commercial applications have been awell-kept secret for too long.
