Toshiba's new flat-screen television lineup, the FACE* series, was developed under the concept of"a TV for the average user. The newly developed shadow mask flat-screen CRT and progressivescan combination reduces reflection and flickering, to produce a more pleasant picture. It is ready forCS digital broadcasts, as well as digital BS broadcasts scheduled for the year 2000. Ergonomicconsiderations have also been applied wherever possible, such as the easy-to-use "SMART" remotecontrol unit and onscreen display using icons. With these new features, FACE* is expected to be the first "friendly TV" to establish itself inthe market.
