Estimated Amount of Titanium used in Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion Plant in Future

摘要

OTEC (Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion) is a system of converting heat energy into electricity by using the temperature difference between warm water at the surface of the ocean and cold one of the depths. Due to the small temperature difference (15-26 deg C) that is available for the OTEC Plant, the large heat transfer area is needed to obtain the large output power. Titanium is used in OTEC plant and desalination plant. In this paper, the estimated amount of titanium used in OTEC plant and desalination plant in future is described.
