Lipo-injection into the breast is popular technique from 1980's, The disadvantage of this technique is low survival rate of injected fat. Furthermore, it is well known that cystic change, solid tumor formation, and calcification are induced after fat necrosis. As a result, detection of early breast cancer and other diseases might become difficult through mammographic and ultrasound examinations. Hence, we observed many physiological changes after lipo-injection into the breast and made classifications of mammographic and ultrasound images. At mammographic images, changes after lipo-injection into the breast are easily categorized as benign lesions. However, at ultrasound examination, some cases needed differential diagnosis because of hardly distinguishable appearance. We expect our new classifications of mammographic and ultrasound images will help medical workers to understand the lesions after lipo-injection into the breast.
