Applications of geophysical exploration for landslide investigation

The purpose of fundamental landslide investigation is to clarify the extended area and the geological structure of the landslide. The geophysical exploration is applied frequently to carry out the landslide investigation because the data is able to examine the geophysical structure. However, the result of geophysical exploration is not useful for all landslide caused by the geological and geophysical feature of the landslide. It is important to perform seismic or electric prospecting. This paper describes explanations of typical geological structures in landslides, and also examines the adequate geophysical exploration on the basis of the geological structure.
