摘要

In this article, we describe the trend of electromagnetic noise countermeasures that use a noise suppression sheet (NSS) and an example of research and development on NSS for the super-high-frequency (SHF) band. To build a design guideline on NSS for the SHF band, which has been examined for the fifth-generation mobile communication (5G) band, an electromagnetic field simulation was conducted. A calculation model was built that simulated electromagnetic interference (EMI) occurring inside a portable electronic device. The calculation result suggested an NSS design guideline that is low permittivity would be indispensable for mitigating EMI at high frequencies far beyond 1 GHz, such as the SHF band when used together with the conventional one that is high permeability. We created such a guideline, and an NSS was developed on the basis of the guideline. It exhibited a large decoupling effect even at frequencies above 5 GHz. Thus, it is expected to mitigate EMI occurring inside an electronic device that operates with 5G, such as a mobile terminal and miniaturized base station.
