Property Differences due to Different Kinds of Raw Materials in Bricks Used in High Alkali and High Sulfur Zones of Cement Rotary Kiln

Cement rotary kilns greatly contribute to the society by carrying out incineration of various wastes, utilization of the by products, and recycling them. On the other hand, however, refractories, which are used in the cement rotary kilns, are facing an unprecedented severe situation. In this study, much attention was paid to magnesia raw material, among raw materials used in spinel system bricks, and we examined how the difference of the property of different raw material species influenced the durability against alkali and sulfur.
