Iron and Steel Industry in India: A journey towards sustainability

摘要

Iron and steel making in India had its root in pre Christian era. Making of iron by smelting of iron ore was practiced in ancient India. Iron technology has grown steadily in ancient India and Indian iron and steel products were in great demand. Excellence of Indian Iron and Steel metallurgy can be witnessed at different relics spread across Indian subcontinent.
