Background and training: Straight from school at eighteen years of age, Joanna went to study for a B.T.E.C in Natural History Illustration at Bournemouth and Poole College, in the UK, After college, Joanna went onto Middlesex university to study a BA in Medical and Scientific Illustration, being the first in her family to attend university, it felt like it was a big deal. With a degree but no business skills Joanna ended up working in an office not as an independent artist as she had hoped. Joanna needed to get back on track and so after some years decided to go back to study medical art and anatomy with the Medical Artists' Association in London.
