The paper elaborates on the scheme [1] of the application of the Monte-Carlo method to the calculation of the number of grits in contact in surface grinding. The information, which has been obtained, is in good agreement with the earlier results of probabilistic calculations. The probabilistic approach and the Monte-Carlo method are compared from the standpoint of their applicability limits, calculation accuracy, and computer time needed.
