Sj?gren's syndrome is associated with primary biliary cholangitis, spondyloarthritis and enterocolitis are closely associated. Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) frequently causes oral lesions. Differential diagnosis of acute abdomen is quite difficult in patients with SLE, thus surgery should be done early in uncertain situations. Systemic sclerosis often causes motility disorders in the whole gastrointestinal tract whereas polymyositis and dermatomyositis frequently lead to motility problems of the esophagus. Malignancy often occurs in patients with adult dermatomyositis. Vasculitic diseases can cause occlusions of intestinal blood vessels and inflammation, bleeding and perforations.
