The efficacy of microbial antagonists, Pseudomonasfluorescens and Trichoderma viride was evaluated as seed, root and soil treatments in lime amended and un-amended soils for management of bacterial wilt (Ralstonia solcmacearum) of brinjal. The antagonists significantly reduced the disease incidence in both un-amended and lime amended soils. In addition to a reduction of disease incidence, there was an increase in the recovery of antagonists from rhizosphere and yield in lime amended soil. Seed, rootand soil treatments with P. fluorescens when applied in a combination effectively suppressed wilt incidence (0.25%) and produced high yield (87.2 q/ha). The antagonists, P. fluorescens (178 x 10~6 cfu/g) and T. viride (190 x 10~6 cfu/g) survived at maximum levels in this combined application.
