INDAL net up 12 percent on 37 percent export rise

The Indian Aluminium Company Ltd., has posted a 12 per cent rise in its net profit at Rs.28.7 crores in the same period last year. This performance has come despite a fall in metal prices worlwide. Main contributions came from increased domestic realisation and a 37 per cent rise in exports in the sheets business.The company's sales increased by 18 per cent to Rs.336 crores (Rs.285 crores) in the same period. The company's exports rose by 7 per cent to Rs.88.3 crores helped to a large extent by the sheets and the extrusions businesses. Operating profit for the downstream aluminium company also showed a 7 per cent rise to Rs.62 crores.
