摘要

This paper originally investigate machining of polycarbonate bullet proof glass and acrylic heat resistant glass with mixed abrasive slurry (Al2O3+B2C, SiC + B2C and Al2O3+SiC+B2C) in 1:1 and 1:1:1 by weight. These mixed abrasives are added in water as carrying medium. Experimental research has been performed by 8mm high carbon high chromium tool steel (D2), high carbon steel (HCS) and high speed tool steel (HSTS) drilling tools for machining of polycarbonate bullet proof glass and heat resistant glass by ultrasonic machining. In the experimentation, 20 kHz frequency, mixed abrasive slurries, Hydrofluoric (HF) acid and three different materials of tools are used. The experimentation date represent the main effect plots for tool wear rate and material removal rate. After analysis, results reveals that Al2O3+SiC+B2C mixed slurry (1:1:1), 1% HF Acid by wt. and HSTS gives the better material removal rate (MRR).
