'Alzheimer's and baby boomers'. Letter to the editor.

I read with great interest and frustration, the commentary by Allan Vann, EdD, entitled "Alzheimer's and Baby Boomers" in the September 2010 issue. As a cognitive neurologist and director of The Alzheimer's Disease and Memory Disorders Center in Austin, Texas, I applaud and agree with all the comments made by Dr Vann. The very early diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease not only requires medical knowledge of the disease but especially knowledge about memory loss or changes which is often the earliest symptom of a developing cognitive disorder.
