Chevron gives nod to Angolan Mafumeira

Chevron finally gave approval for the development of the Mafumeira Sul project off Angola. As exclusively revealed by AOG almost a year ago (see 23 February 2012), the US $5.6 Bn project will see DSME win the contract for the platforms and subcontract the work to Mustang, while the 120km pipelines contract will go to Saipem and the brownfield work on the existing Mafumeira Norte platform will go to Saipem/Sonangol joint venture Petromar, as will the onshore pipeline from shore to the terminal at Malongo.
