Gulf Island grabs VAALCO Gabon goodies

Gulf Island has beaten off the competition to win the deal for the first of two platform contracts for VAALCO off Gabon. The US independent had put McDermott in charge of the design engineering and procurement management for the new platform destined for the already producing Etame field on the Etame Marin block. It in turn asked a selection of Gulf of Mexico contractors to bid late last year and came up with the fast-track recommendation last week.
