Hyperdynamics has signed a letter of award with Pacific Drilling as it continues its uncertain path towards drilling a deepwa-ter well off Guinea next April. The Pacific Bora drillship has recently completed its multi-year contract with Chevron on the second phase of the Agbami development off Nigeria. The rig contractor has now signed the letter of award for one firm well with as many as three follow on options at a dayrate of US $225,000 - compared to the contract with Chevron at $470,000. The agreement is subject to the two companies entering into a definitive contract to be signed no later than November 29.
