Phased Senegal SNE project to need up to 80 wells

One of the partners in Cairn Energy's SNE discovery off Senegal has revealed details of the pre-engineering study results. The report by AMOG consulting was commissioned by Australia's FAR and based on its new reserves figure of 641m bbl for the deepwater field. The development concept is based on 70-80 development wells through field life with an equal split between producers and injectors. Each would recover around 8m bbl of oil and the first phase would involve around 20 to 25 wells. The project is at the pre-FEED stage with the focus on optimising and scaling a first phase development project.
