There is a slight glimmer of hope for the Zarat FPSO project off Tunisia and Libya as the financially troubled partner in the jointly held acreage has finally found a potential buyer. The shallow water field is partly offshore Tunisia and partly in acreage held jointly by Tunisia and Libya. In the latter, Sonde Resources is operator but has been unable to move forward due to severe financial problems. In fact, it has just had lo pay US $15m for failing to meet a commitment to drill a well by the end of November and is due to pay another $15m for failing to drill a second well by the end of December.
