Promotion of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) of chickpea was carried out in three villages Ghurat, Magrawaraand Patha-Karka of Bangra block of the district Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, India during Rabi 2019-20 in farmer’s participatorymode at 30 tribal farmers’ fields, using IPM critical inputs chickpea resistant variety-RVG-202, Trichoderma powder for soilapplication and carbendazim fungicide seed treatment, installation of pheromone trap, bird Perches and neem oil spray @ 5%spray. The less pest incidence percent occurred in IPM farmer’s field as compared to non IPM farmer’s field. The range offusarium wilt (FW) in the IPM field of adopted the village was only 6-12%, wherein non-IPM field it was 26-36%. Likewise,dry root rot (DRR) incidence was 4-8% in IPM fields, it was higher in non-IPM fields (24-32%). Likewise, results were alsoobserved in case of collar rot disease (CR) of chickpea. The higher mean population of gram pod borer larvae was also observedin non-IPM module with rage 2-3 larvae/plant, while the range of larvae in IPM module was 04.-0.8 when 5 pheromone trap/acrewas installed for pest monitoring and 5% neem oil spray was done with the installation of 20 bird perches/acre. The IPMfarmers field yield was 12.80 q/ha, which is 56.09% a higher than non IPM farmers field (8.20 q/ha). Thus, IPM also has highernet return (Rs.36400/ha) in comparison to non-IPM, Rs 17,975 and B: C ratio is 2.7:1. This practices had uplifted the socio-economic status of tribal farmers and promises to improve further.
