Damage limitation following Namibian deep duster

Explorers with nearby acreage were quick to try to limit damage after HRT's second well in its current three well programme off Namibia, and the final one in the Walvis Basin, came in dry. The Murombe well was drilled in PEL 23 to test basin floor fan turbidites similar to Rockhopper's Sea Lion discovery off the Falklands Islands. It was drilled by the Transocean Marianas semisub in a water depth of 4,565ft (1,391m).
