Hyperdynamics Corporation has been forced to pay a fine to US regulators after paying for lobbying services in Guinea without knowing who was receiving the money. The company received a boost in June when the US Department of Justice found there had been no violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act in the company's activities in obtaining and retaining its giant deepwater concession which is now operated by Tullow Oil.
