An exact solution to the problem of a transient three dimensional MHD free convection flow of an electrically conducting viscous incompressible fluid past an impulsively started infinite vertical porous plate taking into account the effect of thermal radiation in presence of Hall and ion-slip current is presented. It is assumed that the entire system rotates with a uniform angular velocity about the normal to the plate and a uniform magnetic field is applied transversely to the plate and directed into the fluid region. The magnetic Reynolds number is assumed to be so small that the induced magnetic field can be neglected. The non-dimensional equations governing the flow are solved by Laplace transform technique in closed form. The expressions for the primary and secondary velocity fields, temperature field, the coefficient of skin friction at the plate in the direction of the flow and the coefficient of heat transfer in terms of Nusselt number are obtained in non-dimensional form. The effects of radiation parameter, rotational parameter, Hydromagnetic parameter, Hall parameter, ion-slip parameter and Prandtl number on the flow and transports characteristics are studied through graphs and tables and the results are physically interpreted.
