Efficacy and Safety of Ultrasound-Guided Lauromacrogol Sclerotherapy in Treating Cesarean Scar Pregnancy

Objective: To investigate the therapeutic effect of ultrasound-guided lauromacrogol sclerotherapy in the treatment of cesarean scar pregnancy. Methods: Sixty-one women with uterine incision scar pregnancy were injected with lauromacrogol sclerosing agent surrounding uterine scar incision under ultrasonic intervention and subsequently underwent embryo sac excision and curettage within 20 hours after the surgery. Results: All patients were successfully administered with lauromacrogol at a dose of 10-20 ml. No massive hemorrhage was observed following embryo sac excision combined with curettage. No symptoms of fever and surgical pain were noted during and after the combined operation. The average length of hospital stay was 2.7 days. The average in-patient expenses were approximate RMB 3660. The serum level of β-HCG decreased to the normal mean value 22 days after surgery. Normal menstruation was recovered on 27.8 days on average after the surgery. Conclusion: Ultrasound-guided injection of lauromacrogol is a safe, effective, simple and convenient approach to clinically treat cesarean scar pregnancy.
