Survey on Architectural Design Principles for Edge Oriented Computing Systems

摘要

In Internet of Things (loT), millions of sensors and devices are continuously producing data and exchanging important messages via complex networks supporting machine-to-machine communications and monitoring and controlling critical smart-world infrastructures. As an approach to alleviate the increase in resource congestion, edge oriented computing has emerged as a new paradigm to solve loT and localized computing needs. Recently many edge oriented systems have been developed with architectures of different styles and its performance depends on the underlying architecture. Hence, this paper explores the underlying architectural design principles used to develop systems through logical view, physical view, development view and process view. In addition this paper lists the other combinational views which do not directly come under the listed views and also proposes an architecture model for edge oriented computing.
