NEELACHAL ISPAT NIGAM LTD RESUMES BILLET PRODUCTION

India’s Neelachal Ispat Nigam Ltd (NINL), the subsidiary of MMTC, resumed its billet production (900,000 tpy) at the plant in Kalinganagar, Odisha state, the company’s representative confirmed to Metal Expert. On December 7, NINL commissioned the meltshop that suspended operations because of a 1.1 million tpy BF overhaul and modernization of steelmaking facilities. The company plans to reach design capacity instead of previous 50-55% utilization rate thanks to the renovations activities.
