LEBANON LOSES ITS SOLE STEEL PRODUCER

The sole Lebanese steel producer Kfoury Metals sold equipment from its plant in Batroun in Northern Lebanon, a company insider told Metal Expert. The new owner is unnamed Georgian company. It has already transferred a 150,000 tpy steel melt- shop, including three induction furnaces and a billet CCM, as well as a 350,000 tpy rebar mill for 8-32 mm rebar to Georgia.
