Iran’s Kurdistan Steel Industries has initiated preparation works to go ahead with construction of two DRI plants (1.6 million tpy in total) in Qorveh region of Kurdistan province and in Bijar, Kursitan province, Metal Expert learnt from an interview of Mr Mohammad Resa Ahmadi, CEO of Kurdistan Steel, for the local media. “We have initiated the process for receiving environmental permits,” the company’s representative commented. “In the near future, we will announce tender for the contractors to be finalized by May 2019. Upon the construction launch, the project may take 3 years to complete.”
