摘要

This paper aims to fabrication of (poly-methyl methacrylate–lead oxide) nanocomposites for bioenvironmental application with low weight and low cost. The (PMMA–PbO_(2)) nanocomposites have been prepared for gamma ray shielding and UV shielding. The optical and structuralproperties of (PMMA–PbO_(2)) nanocomposites were studied. The (PMMA–PbO_(2)) nanocomposites prepared for different concentrations of lead oxide nanoparticles. The results showed that the absorbance, absorption coefficient, extinction coefficient, refractive index,real and imaginary dielectric constants and optical conductivity of poly-methyl methacrylate increase as increase in PbO_(2) nanoparticles concentrations. The transmittance and energy band gap were decreased with increase in PbO_(2) nanoparticles concentrations. The resultsof applications showed that the attenuation coefficients for gamma radiation source (Cs-137) increase with increase in PbO_(2) nanoparticles concentrations. Also, (PMMA–PbO_(2)) nanocomposites have highly absorbance for UV region.
