Healthy Lifestyle: A Choice

As we enter the holiday season, it seems prudent to center our discussion on healthy lifestyles. Over the past six months, I have frequently mentioned personal choices and personal responsibility as it pertains to healthcare. The choices we make directly impacts our health and often the health of those around us. It has been well documented that Oklahoma is in a health crisis. Our health outcomes as a state, have dropped further than any other state in the past 10-15 years. We have an area of our state where life expectancy is only 56 years, 23 years behind the average American life span and ranking behind many third-world African nations. This should be unacceptable to ALL Oklahomans.
