摘要

Autoclave technology is widely used by Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers to manufacture aerostructures for leading aircraft manufacturers.This technology allows the production of very high-quality lightweight parts because,if the procedure is carried out properly,the autoclave pressure exerts on the carbon fibre laminate a force capable of highly compressing the trapped air and the volatile gases that would otherwise form gaps in the cured resin and thus be problematic in a finished composite part.However,a high specialization is often required to achieve these results in addition to the high cost the process involves,mainly due to the long cycle times and high energy consumption.
