Powder coatings are solvent-free coating systems used for many applications due to their durability, ease of application, and environmental advantages vs liquid coating systems. Powder paints are applied to a substrate electrostatically and cured at relatively high temperatures to form a continuous, durable film. The advantages of powder coatings are that no solvents are used when they are sprayed, minimizing environmental issues related to volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
