North American jet fuel demand climbed by 1.8% in August with Canada's relatively small market spurring most of the rise. Canadian usage reached 240,000 b/d as long-haul carriers like Norwegian Airlines added flights to major cities. US consumption receded slightly amid infrastructure constraints that restricted uplift at air- ports on the East and West Coasts. Fuel usage at Gulf Coast airports soared as Southwest continued its expansion drive. Mexican demand fell by 6% to 83,000 b/d with jet fuel shipments via truck and railcar from the US meeting more of those needs.
